TR Stabilisation were appointed by Caddick Construction following proposals to assist with ground improvement techniques for the design & build scheme of a new manufacturing facility within the confine of BAE Systems, Samlesbury.
Following site soils sampling and Laboratory bench trial testing TR Stabilisation developed a proposal to address the extremely poor ground conditions at the site to permit the proposed piling contractor access to the working platform which would have involved a substantial volume of imported granular fills, and mass disposals off site.
TR Stabilisation using existing on site soils improved bearing capacity for re-use on-site and prepared the building piling platform area to accommodate the piling contractors case load of >600kN/m2, similar techniques were adopted to external areas including service yards and carparks, to mitigate disposal and importation of engineering fills for the construction build-ups, given the proposal ground bearing floor slabs were also adopted.
TR Stabilisation worked closely with Caddick Construction design engineers and geotechnical consultants to delivery this scheme in the most cost effective manner with the alternative ground improvement solution.
TR Stabilisation undertook full verification testing to demonstrate compliance with the performance specification and design criteria to satisfy other design consultants of interest.
